For us, it&#8217;s not really about being a profitable business. For us, we want it to work for artists and labels out there, and composers.<br />

Now it&#8217;s only about growing and growing and growing so that we can change the way the industry is going now, which is down, to an upward trend.</p>
<p><strong>Why do UK users now need an invitation &#8211; are you victims of your own success and do you have to keep a hold on user numbers?</strong><br />
The most important reason is that we want to have a great consumer experience. We&#8217;ve had a phenomenal growth but at the same time streaming music over the internet at such vast numbers is not an easy task from an engineering standpoint.</p>

Do you see the invite-only situation being temporary or could it be permanent?</strong><br />

<p>Interessante però anche il commento di Carri Bugbee al post &#8220;Free music will NEVER be the model for working musicians. It will only work for youngsters who have nothing to lose, low overheard and cheap/crappy production values&#8221;</p>

<p>Infatti per poter ascoltare l&#8217;album dovete &#8220;accedere&#8221; con le vostre credenziali di Facebook (o Twitter). Una volta fatto questo (chè è una Facebook Connect) avrete accesso all&#8217;ascolto dell&#8217;intero album.</p>
<p>La cosa interessante è che il vostro stato di Facebook verrà aggornato automaticamente con frasi del tipo &#8220;Sto ascoltando Mechanize dei Fear Factory&#8221;. Non solo, per poter continuare ad ascoltare, traccia dopo traccia, dovrete lasciare una sorta di commento su FB, come ad esempio il voto alla canzone.</p>
<p>Insomma una cosa un po&#8217; più invasiva dello streaming classico, ma comunque interessante. Il <a href="http://www.plugdtunes.com/fearfactory">nuovo album dei Fear Factory</a> è in streaming in anteprima solo su Plugd.</p>

<p><strong>Facebook</strong> plans to add a <strong>conversion tracking tool</strong> to its suite of advertising products based on demand from the marketplace. The platform <strong>will allow marketers to track clicks through conversion</strong>, Brian Boland, manager of direct response solutions for Facebook, told OMMA Social attendees in San Francisco on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The conversion tracking tool <strong>being tested by a &#8220;handful&#8221; of Facebook advertisers doesn&#8217;t have a launch date, but Boland believes it should become available sometime before the end of March</strong>. A JavaScript snippet will go into the Web page. Marketers will have an option to set up multiple tags to track numerous conversions.</p>
<p>Reports will provide a list of tracked conversions and the impressions and the clicks that led to each. The feature will help marketers build out messages as the campaign expands into a variety of pieces. </p>
